In a decisive move against electricity theft, Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has taken stern action against 87 workers, signaling a crackdown on the illicit practice. The company, responsible for power distribution in Lahore, reported that these employees were apprehended by custom officials, exposing their involvement in nefarious activities.

Among the consequences, 20 workers faced termination upon being found guilty, while 21 others were subjected to demotion. Additionally, the promotion of six employees was halted, and three individuals were compelled to resign.

The accused individuals spanned various roles within the company, including line superintendent, meter reader, lineman, and other staff members. This stringent response underscores the commitment to curbing malpractices within the power distribution sector and ensuring accountability among its workforce.
