Reportedly nine people have lost their lives while several others are injured after an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 hit different parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night. The quake lasted for at least 30 seconds and was felt in Islamabad, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Loralai, Lahore, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Chichawatni, Jaranwala, Mailsi, Lakki Marwat, Minchinabad, Kohlu, Jahanian, Pakpattan, Shorkot, Dijkot, Shakargarh, Lodhran, Layyah and others.
The earthquake was so strong that it was also felt in other countries including India, Afghanistan, India, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The people in Pakistan left their homes while reciting duas when the tremors started. According to reports, 11 people have died so far, 2 in Afghanistan and 9 in Pakistan.
The Met Department reported that the exact time of the quake was 9:47 and it’s epicentre was Hindukush region of Afghanistan.
