Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidate Ali Amin Gandapur has secured a decisive victory in the PK-113 by-election held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) notification, Gandapur emerged victorious with 35,454 votes, defeating his closest rival from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) who garnered 21,885 votes.
This win holds significant weight, considering it comes amidst continued political uncertainty following the former Prime Minister’s disqualification. Notably, this victory aligns with the recent nomination of Gandapur by the PTI founder as the potential Chief Minister of KP, even while facing a jail trial.
