The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have advised its pilots, cabin, and crew members ‘not to fast’ while flying. The decision comes to support not only the well-being of all cabin and crew members but also to prioritize the safety of the passengers.

The Corporate Safety Management and the Aircrew Medical Centre while disclosing its message to the national flag carriers’ cabin and crew members also discussed the significance of fasting. However, it also discussed the potential risks involved including the inability to make decisions and impaired performance during emergency situation.

Announcing the decision for successful and safe flight operations, the officials underscored the importance of Civil Aviation Rules (CARs) 1994, specifically rule 41(3), which abstains the members for fasting during flight.
