On October 27, 2024, Pakistan dispatched additional humanitarian aid to Gaza and Lebanon in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in both regions. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), under the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, sent the 15th and 16th consignments, each containing 100 tons of essential supplies. These shipments, which include winterized tents and blankets, were flown from Islamabad to Amman for Gaza and to Beirut for Lebanon. Over 1,500 tons of relief items have been sent to date, signifying Pakistan’s commitment to supporting communities in distress.
The relief consignments were formally dispatched at Islamabad International Airport, with a ceremony attended by Members of Parliament, NDMA representatives, and ambassadors from Palestine and Lebanon. During the event, the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s support, describing the humanitarian assistance as a “beacon of hope.” The Lebanese Ambassador echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of international aid in providing urgent necessities to war-affected populations.
This aid initiative underscores Pakistan’s long-standing support for Palestinian and Lebanese communities amid challenging conditions. Members of the Pakistani government emphasized their solidarity with these nations, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to addressing urgent humanitarian needs, especially in times of conflict and hardship.
