In Pakistan, an important initiative has been launched to streamline the Hajj 2025 application process, with selected banks remaining operational on weekends. This step is designed to accommodate the busy schedules of aspiring pilgrims, ensuring they have sufficient time to complete their applications without logistical hurdles. A total of 15 banks across the country are authorized to accept applications under both the government scheme and the sponsorship program.

Applicants are required to submit an initial deposit of PKR 200,000 with their applications, while a second installment will be collected after a ballot to select successful candidates. The government’s Hajj scheme offers 89,605 seats, including 5,000 seats reserved specifically for overseas Pakistanis under the sponsorship scheme. Payments by overseas applicants must be made in U.S. dollars, making the process accessible to Pakistanis living abroad. This comprehensive package includes airfare, accommodations, meals, vaccinations, and pre-departure training

To ensure safety and convenience, individuals with serious medical conditions or disabilities and children under the age of 12 are ineligible for Hajj 2025. Moreover, agreements between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs have streamlined flight arrangements for 35,000 pilgrims under the government scheme. The Ministry is also finalizing partnerships with Saudi Airlines and other carriers

The decision to extend banking hours demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing an efficient and accessible service, particularly as Pakistan prepares to send thousands of pilgrims on this sacred journey.
