Pakistan marked its Independence Day with a powerful tribute to the nation’s defenders, the release of the Rs. 75/- Commemorative Coin on 15 August 2025. The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) confirmed that the special edition celebrates both the country’s freedom and the heroism of its armed forces during the historic Marka-e-Haq, a battle etched in military history for repelling hostile advances and safeguarding national sovereignty.

The timing of the coin’s launch is symbolic, arriving as Pakistan remembers its aerial victories, including encounters where Indian jets were downed, and salutes the bravery of soldiers stationed in challenging theatres such as Pahalgam. It is designed not only as legal tender but also as a keepsake for those who value the nation’s enduring resilience.

Detailed Craftsmanship Reflecting National Pride

Struck in nickel-brass, a blend of 79% copper, 20% zinc, and 1% nickel, the coin measures 30 millimetres in diameter and weighs 13.5 grams, giving it a solid, premium feel.

On the obverse, a waxing crescent moon and five-pointed star point northwest, framed above by the words “Islami Jamhuria Pakistan” in Urdu. Two elegantly curved wheat sprigs cradle the year “2025,” with the bold numeral “75” to the right and “Rupia” to the left.

The reverse side of the new coin brings the spirit of Marka-e-Haq to life. The inscription of the battle’s name crowns the centre, while “Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad” arcs proudly across the top. Below, etched images of two fighter jets, a naval vessel, and a Multiple Rocket Launcher System (MRLS) evoke Pakistan’s combined-forces strength.

According to SBP, the Rs. 75/- Commemorative Coin will be available through all field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation. Collectors and patriots alike are expected to line up, not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its layered symbolism of victory, unity, and independence.
