BYD Pakistan–Mega Motor Company Partners with Pakistan’s First World Athletics–Certified Karachi Marathon 2026

Mega Motor Company (MMC), the official partner of BYD in Pakistan, has entered a landmark collaboration with the Karachi Marathon 2026, becoming an official partner of Pakistan’s first World Athletics–Certified marathon event. The agreement marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s sports landscape, aligning international athletic standards with the nation’s growing mobility and sustainability ambitions.

The signing ceremony was held at BYD Pakistan’s Karachi Experience Center, attended by senior leadership from MMC, BYD, and the Karachi Marathon organizing committee. The partnership will include wide-scale brand visibility, athlete sponsorship, and mobility-driven initiatives aimed at elevating Pakistan’s presence on the global athletic map.

Cricket legend Misbah-ul-Haq honored the event as a special guest, adding national excitement and reinforcing the values of discipline, endurance, and determination that define marathon running.

Under the partnership, the BYD SHARK 6 has been designated as the official timer car for the Karachi Marathon 2026. The vehicle will lead runners from the starting line, representing precision, smart mobility, and futuristic innovation throughout Pakistan’s largest international race event.

Karachi Marathon 2026 also contributes to Vision 2032, an initiative focused on enabling Pakistani athletes to qualify for major global marathons and ultimately target Olympic participation. This collaboration is expected to support athlete development at an unprecedented scale.

Speaking at the ceremony, Danish Khaliq, Vice President Sales & Strategy at MMC, said the company’s commitment goes beyond mobility, extending to healthier communities and sustainable lifestyles. He added that MMC is sponsoring two of Pakistan’s top marathon runners, giving them exposure to international competitions ahead of the Karachi Marathon.

BYD, a global leader in green mobility and clean-energy transportation, highlighted the importance of encouraging sustainable and community-driven sports events. The company emphasized that its mission to reduce carbon emissions aligns naturally with promoting healthier living and environmentally conscious infrastructure in Pakistan.
