China and Pakistan both have categorically condemned the terrorist attack on Chinese Engineers in Gawadar. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued an official statement stating that any attempt to sabotage China and Pakistan’s friendship and CPEC will not succeed.
Wang Wenbin said, “China will continue to work with the Pakistani side to jointly guard against and counter the threats of terrorism and earnestly protect the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in Pakistan.”
He further emphasized that “any attempt to sabotage the friendship between China and Pakistan and the development of CPEC will not succeed.”
Background:
A convoy of Chinese Engineers was attacked by gunshots and roadside bombs on August 13 in Gawadar. Luckily no one got injured or killed in this terrorist attack. China immediately asked its citizens to stay vigilant and strongly condemned the attack. China has also asked Pakistan to take action against those responsible for this terrorist activity.
