The British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff, a new electric storage heating tariff designed for use with the Dimplex Quantum Storage Heater, has been unveiled by British Gas and Dimplex.

The Dimplex Quantum Storage Heater, manufactured by Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation, is an alternative to typical storage heaters.

It serves as a heat reservoir, facilitating the electrification of building heating systems.

The tariff, developed by British Gas, has the potential to give more cost-effective rates than traditional Economy 7 prices.

This cost-effectiveness is enabled by the Quantum heaters’ capacity to be charged by British Gas during periods when energy costs are lowest on the grid.

Furthermore, the service comes with the guarantee of 100% renewable electricity and low costs.

“Our partnership with Glen Dimplex will allow customers to save on their energy bills, shift energy usage away from peak times, and help contribute to a greener grid,” said Catherine O’Kelly, Managing Director of British Gas Energy.

“I’m pleased that our new British Gas Dimplex Quantum Tariff will join the PeakSave family, which is helping to create a more flexible and sustainable energy grid and supporting the UK on its decarbonisation journey.”

British Gas’ ‘first-of-its-kind’ smart tariff represents a significant leap in the energy market, bringing dynamic pricing, smart meter integration, and real-time control to the fingertips of consumers. This innovative approach not only has the potential to reduce energy costs but also supports the adoption of renewable energy sources, contributing to a more sustainable future. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, offerings like this smart tariff pave the way for greater efficiency, control, and consumer empowerment in managing their energy consumption.
