Microsoft’s GPT-powered AI chatbot Copilot has become a standalone app on Android, streamlining user experience by eliminating the need for a separate Bing mobile app. The app is now available for download on the Google Play Store, offering users functionalities mirroring those of ChatGPT.

Copilot on Android provides chatbot capabilities, integrates the DALL-E 3 image generator, and facilitates quick email and document writing. Notably, it grants users access to features that are typically paid on ChatGPT, including the use of its advanced GPT-4 model.

Formerly known as Bing Chat, Copilot was initially launched as part of Microsoft’s Bing search engine. With its rebranding, Copilot now offers a more independent experience and boasts a dedicated website at copilot.microsoft.com. The expansion into mobile apps aligns with the recent rebranding of Bing Chat Enterprise to Copilot.

While there is no iOS version of Copilot available at present, its anticipated arrival is on the horizon. In the meantime, Apple users can access Copilot’s features through the Bing app on iPhones or iPads. This strategic move highlights Microsoft’s dedication to broadening the accessibility and functionality of its AI chatbot technology, aligning with the trend toward standalone apps and independence.
