Release Delayed Yet Again
The much-anticipated film Panjab ’95, starring Diljit Dosanjh, has been postponed once more. This marks another hurdle for the movie, which has already faced years of controversy and delays.
Background and Controversies
Directed by Honey Trehan, the film is a gripping period drama based on the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a human rights activist from Punjab. Khalra risked his life to uncover illegal killings of Sikhs during the turbulent 1990s in Amritsar. Despite its compelling narrative, Panjab ’95 has been entangled in legal and political challenges.
Initially, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanded over 120 cuts, sparking objections from Sikh religious organizations. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) intervened, ensuring a global release without any alterations.
Diljit Dosanjh Confirms Delay
Taking to Instagram, Dosanjh apologized to fans, stating, “We are sorry, and it pains us to inform you that the movie Panjab ’95 will not release on 7th Feb due to circumstances beyond our control.”

Star-Studded Cast and Historical Relevance
The film stars Diljit Dosanjh, Arjun Rampal, and Surinder Vicky. With its roots in Punjab’s history, it aims to shed light on critical issues of justice and human rights. Its relevance and emotional depth make it one of the most awaited releases of the year.
