The iconic Suzuki Bolan, often referred to as the “Carry Dabba,” has officially been discontinued in Pakistan, marking the end of an era for one of the country’s most recognizable vehicles. After years of speculation, the news has now been confirmed, with a circulating photo on social media showing the final batch of incomplete Bolan units accompanied by a sign reading, “Bye Bye Y88V Bolan.”
A company official confirmed the completion of the last batch of Bolan vehicles, signaling the end of production. The Bolan, despite its outdated design and a long history of criticism for lacking modern safety and comfort features, remained popular due to limited alternatives in the market.
Over the years, the Bolan faced competition, most notably from the Changan Karvaan. However, it wasn’t until now that Suzuki decided to retire the vehicle, making way for a more modern replacement: the Suzuki Every.
The Suzuki Every has been highly anticipated, and despite delays caused by import restrictions, its launch has now been confirmed for October 2024. The Every, which was showcased at the Lahore Auto Show, promises to bring Suzuki into a new era, offering modern features and improved safety for Pakistani consumers.
This marks the end of a legacy for the Bolan, which, despite its limitations, served Pakistan’s roads for many years.
