The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially announced details of vacancies allocated under the Central Superior Services (CSS) Examination 2024, confirming a total of 364 positions across multiple federal departments and divisions.

According to an official press release issued by the FPSC, the openings include 247 new vacancies and 117 carried forward from previous years. These positions will be filled through the competitive CSS examination process, ensuring representation from all provinces and regions of Pakistan.

The commission stated that the vacancies are distributed across three main categories: open merit, women quota, and minority quota. Of the total, 214 positions are allocated under open merit, 32 seats are reserved for women, and 118 for minorities, reflecting the FPSC’s commitment to inclusivity and fair representation.

Provincial allocations were also outlined to maintain balanced participation from all regions. Punjab leads with 179 vacancies, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 48, Sindh with 61 (including 32 rural and 29 urban), and Balochistan with 31. Additionally, 15 seats have been reserved for former FATA candidates, 8 for Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 4 for Gilgit-Baltistan.

The FPSC emphasized that these appointments are designed to strengthen the country’s administrative structure by selecting the most qualified individuals for key government roles. Successful candidates will be inducted into various occupational groups and federal services, including the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Foreign Service, Inland Revenue, and others.

Following the CSS 2024 results, candidates will be placed according to their exam performance, merit position, and provincial quota. The FPSC reiterated that all postings are made transparently under federal recruitment policies to ensure equal opportunity and merit-based selection.

The CSS examination remains one of Pakistan’s most competitive public service exams, attracting thousands of aspirants each year. With the new allocation, the FPSC aims to fill critical positions that contribute to governance, policymaking, and national development.

This announcement provides aspiring candidates with a clear picture of the opportunities available in CSS 2024 — and the diversity of representation that continues to shape Pakistan’s civil service system.
