Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi swiftly dismissed a counterfeit letter that had been circulating on Thursday, falsely asserting the government’s intent to prohibit Rs5,000 banknotes starting September 30.
On his social media platform, Solangi emphasized that the government would take action against those disseminating such false information, intending to stir up turmoil.
The counterfeit letter inaccurately alleged a nationwide ban on the utilization, possession, and circulation of Rs5,000 currency notes from September 30, 2023. Solangi’s prompt response aimed to quell any unwarranted concerns sparked by the counterfeit letter.
