The Gwadar International Airport is expected to become operational in 2025, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan, as reported by ARY News. The recent official notification from the Civil Aviation Authority marks significant progress in the development of the New Gwadar International Airport.
The airport has been granted a global aerodrome category C certification for the next two years, assuring pilots of its compliance with international standards for diverse weather conditions during landings.
Officials highlight the installation of a state-of-the-art landing system at the New Gwadar International Airport, catering to large aeroplanes such as the Airbus 320 and Boeing 737. This modern landing system not only enhances safety measures but also contributes to the overall efficiency of airport operations.
The recently issued three-month flight operation schedule for Gwadar Airport specifies operations from December 1 to February 28, 2024, with flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Non-scheduled flights are required to inform the airport administration 24 hours in advance, ensuring proper coordination and adherence to operational protocols.
