The 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2024) has commenced in Karachi, running from November 19 to 22 at the Expo Centre. This biennial event serves as a premier platform for showcasing advanced defense technologies and fostering global partnerships. This year’s exhibition features participants from 38 countries, including debut entries from nations like Italy, Iran, and Ukraine. Over 500 exhibitors are presenting cutting-edge innovations, alongside Pakistan’s own defense advancements, such as the Haider tank and Dardun Shahpar UAV.
The event also emphasizes innovation with a dedicated startups pavilion, supported by NUST and the National Aerospace and Technology Park, offering young entrepreneurs an international stage to display their technological advancements. Multiple seminars and networking opportunities are enabling business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) engagements.
Security has been significantly heightened, with traffic diversions and strict access controls around the venue. Karachi’s traffic police have enforced a comprehensive plan to manage disruptions and ensure smooth proceedings during the event
