The Islamabad High Court (IHC) declared the sessions court’s verdict in the Toshakhana case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan “void.”
The court rejected Khan’s request to transfer the case to another court, and Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar will continue hearing the case. The IHC also issued a notice regarding the rejection of witnesses’ list.
The Election Commission of Pakistan previously disqualified Khan for making “false statements and incorrect declarations” about gifts, leading to the criminal proceedings initiated by the election watchdog.
The Toshakhana case involves allegations that Khan purchased gifts received during his premiership and sold them for significant profits. The Supreme Court dismissed Khan’s petition against the trial proceedings in the case.
