On December 31, 2023, the Pakistan Road Runners (PRR) organized the Sohail Memorial Ultra Marathon Race, a grueling 53km race from Islamabad to Murree. The race, featuring 8 participants, including 6 men and 2 women, witnessed an extraordinary feat by Umaira Sheraz, a dedicated Lady Cop with Islamabad Police.
Umaira, running alongside her team, etched her name in history by breaking Ultra Marathon records, completing the challenging course in a remarkable 6 hours, 47 minutes, and 51 seconds. Overcoming an elevation of 2104 meters, she displayed exceptional endurance and determination.
In achieving this milestone, Umaira Sheraz not only establishes a new record in Pakistan’s Ultra Marathon history but also makes history as the first and youngest female athlete to accomplish such a feat. Beyond her athletic prowess, Umaira serves as a motivational speaker, inspiring and educating future leaders.
