According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi, Hyderabad, and other parts of Sindh will remain under intermittent rains with isolated heavy falls from Monday night until Wednesday. The pattern has been forced on by a depression lying over the western area of Madhya Pradesh in India, which is moving westward and pouring strong monsoon currents into the southern parts of Pakistan. Moreover, there is a trough of the westerly waves prevailing over the upper parts of the country, further contributing to the unsettled weather.
He added that similar conditions can be expected in districts Tahtta, Badin, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Naushahro Feroze. Isolated heavy rainfall is also expected at some places that may even cause flooding in the low-lying areas of Sindh and minor flash flooding in the local streams and nullahs of Dadu.
Karachi weather update for Tuesday and Wednesday
Tuesday: mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the Sindh province. The maximum temperature to be recorded in Karachi is 35-37°C and in Hyderabad 38-40°C on the same day.
Wednesday: Maximum temperature in Karachi 33-35°C and in Hyderabad 37-39°C. In the last 24 hours, mainly hot and humid weather was observed over most parts of Sindh Province. However, isolated rain occurred in lower Sindh. Some amounts of notable rainfall are Tharparkar: Nagarparkar 47mm, Islamkot 18mm, Mithi 17mm; and Badin 15mm.
With the monsoon season in full swing, the people in the affected parts of the country are cautioned to remain alert and may take preventive measures. Widespread monsoon rains with isolated heavy to very heavy falls are expected to continue over the country till August 29.
