In a landmark move to bolster Pakistan’s digital economy, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) has launched Software Technology Parks (STPs) and e-Rozgaar Centers at various educational institutions in Islamabad. The initiative was inaugurated by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education, at Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG), F-7/4, aiming to cultivate a thriving tech ecosystem.
These state-of-the-art centers are designed to bridge the gap between academia and the industry, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Siddiqui emphasized that the project will empower Pakistan’s youth by equipping them with the resources necessary to thrive in the digital economy. Five IT parks have been established in Islamabad, transforming the landscape of education by integrating technology, creativity, and collaboration.
Key figures, such as Member of Parliament Abdul Aleem Khan, highlighted the transformative potential of these centers, which are equipped with modern facilities, including high-speed internet, free electricity, meeting rooms, and collaborative workspaces. Secretary MoFEPT, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, hailed the initiative as a milestone in the evolution of Islamabad’s tech ecosystem.
The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) supports the initiative, recognizing its importance in positioning Pakistan as a competitive player on the global stage. Designed for freelancers, startups, and young entrepreneurs, the STPs offer free co-working spaces, encouraging Pakistan’s next generation to innovate.
The government’s commitment to fostering a digital economy is clear, with these centers playing a crucial role in nurturing local talent, promoting entrepreneurship, and advancing Pakistan’s position in the global technology sector.
