The caretaker federal government of Pakistan has announced new petrol and diesel prices, effective December 1, 2023. The price of petrol has been retained at Rs281.34 per litre, while the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs7 per litre to Rs296.71 per litre. The price of kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs3.82 per litre to Rs204.98 per litre, and the price of light-speed diesel (LSD) has been reduced by Rs4.52 per litre to Rs180.45 per litre.
This is the second time that the caretaker federal government has reduced petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan. On November 15, 2023, the government reduced petrol prices by Rs2.04 per litre, diesel prices by Rs6.47 per litre, kerosene oil prices by Rs6.05 per litre, and LSD prices by Rs9.01 per litre.
The caretaker federal government is expected to announce further reductions in petrol and diesel prices in the coming months, as the global oil prices continue to fall.
