The Ministry of Education issued an imperative notification regarding the school and college academics calendar in Islamabad. As per it, Saturday holidays would be abolished from August 10 for providing additional academic and extracurricular support to the students. The new policy adopted by the school is aimed at enhancing learning by focusing on those lagging behind in studies.
The new Saturday schedule will provide targeted academic support to improve the performance of weak students. A measure taken to ensure that the student gets due time and resources for his improvement. In this way, Saturdays, besides their usage in rendering academic support, are utilized in organizing sundry extra-curricular activities aimed at ensuring the well-rounded educational experience of children.
The Ministry’s move comes in the wake of directions from the Secretary of Federal Education and Professional Training. An effective use of Saturdays will provide better all-around education to the students, the Ministry said. The schools will devise and organize activities outside of the classroom routine for physical fitness, creativity, team spirit, and other life skills.
The notification from the Ministry has outlined the implementation of this new schedule, and accordingly, schools in Islamabad are going to revise their timetables.
