The Gaza War has been catastrophic as the territory’s Health Ministry has confirmed that over 45,000 Palestinians have died since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. Within the last 24 hours alone, airstrikes from Israel have killed 52 Palestinians and injured 203. The latest attacks included a bombing that killed 20, including children, in the Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz UNRWA-run school in Khan Younis. This tragedy has joined the growing list of Palestinians killed in Gaza.

Other attacks focused on the northern Beit Hanoon school which took 43 casualties. Then, an attack against the civil defense post killed six persons of whom one was the cameraman of Al Jazeera TV. Such attacks transformed learning places and humanitarian centers into destruction points, thus making the emergency worse for internally displaced people. During the continued clash, Palestinians killed inside the Gaza Strip include noncombatants, rescue volunteers, and reporters.

The health system in Gaza is at the edge of collapse. A nurse from Kamal Adwan Hospital shared a very emotional account of despair, where he described how the destruction of the medical facility has rendered them incapable of saving lives. “People are dying in the streets, and the wounded are bleeding out. We can no longer endure,” he said. His voice joins countless others mourning the rising number of Palestinians killed in Gaza.

Elsewhere, the conflict heats up in the region. There are three casualties from an Israeli drone strike in the Sidon district of Lebanon. Israel’s government declared that it would increase settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

The magnitude of death and suffering is inconceivable. More than 45,000 Palestinians were killed in Gaza. The fight seems to have no intention of slowing down, taking hundreds of families into an infinite circle of loss and destruction.
