The Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, has announced a major initiative for young graduates across the country. A program will provide 60,000 paid internships to eligible candidates.
The federal government is also investing in education, with scholarships provided to students accepted to the top 25 universities in the world. Additionally, 100,000 university students will receive laptops to help them develop digital skills.
The minister highlighted the previous successful program launched by PML-N, where 1 million laptops were awarded to youth to foster a freelancing culture in the country.
The Planning Minister also announced 20,000 scholarships for unemployed graduates during an international summit on higher education and workforce development held in Islamabad.
The scholarships will be accessible to students in remote areas under the recently launched Youth Development Initiatives (YDI) by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The YDI is aimed at providing opportunities for young people to grow and develop their skills.
