The Pakistan U19 cricket team is going to participate in a 50-over tri-series against Afghanistan and UAE, as the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed on Wednesday. The event will take place from November 13 through November 26, and this series will be an important preparation for the boys ahead of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2024. Though the venue is yet to be decided, the opening match on November 13 will feature Pakistan against the UAE.

This tournament will be based on a double-league format, with the top two teams from the league stage going through to the final, which will take place on November 26. As a lead-up to the tri-series, the PCB will arrange a National U19 Cup (50-over) and a National U19 Championship (three-day) in October. Domestic tournaments like these are being conducted to give exposure to the players so that they can be selected based on their performance in the final squad for the tri-series.

Usman Wahla, PCB Director International, welcomed the tri-series, noting it as part of the prepares the player for the U19 Asia Cup. He added that the series is going to be highly competitive in UAE and acknowledged Emirates Cricket Board’s role in arranging the event. The collaboration between the PCB and Emirates Cricket Board underlines the strong bilateral ties and shared commitment to developing young cricket talent.
