The Pakistan volleyball squad showcased their prowess by clinching a resounding 3-0 triumph over a formidable Chinese Taipei team in the ongoing Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China. This spectacular victory propelled the Men in Green into the next round, having emerged victorious in both their preliminary matches against Mongolia and Chinese Taipei.
In their inaugural game of this prestigious tournament, the Green Shirts displayed their dominance by dispatching the 58th-ranked Mongolia team in three straight sets, with scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-20 on Tuesday.
Following this, the national team soared to the pinnacle of the points table by overcoming the 44th-ranked Chinese Taipei, who had secured a Bronze medal in 2018. The scoreline of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-19 in favor of Pakistan marked a significant achievement.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the round of 12, where they will engage in cross-matches, such as B1 vs. E2, A2 vs. F1, A1 vs. F2, B2 vs. E1, C1 vs. D2, and C2 vs. D1. According to the regulations, the six victorious teams in this phase will vie for rankings 1 to 6, while the remaining six teams will be slotted into the 7-12 rankings.
