The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has unveiled the squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier Round 2 matches against Jordan. The matches are set to take place at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad on March 21st, followed by an away fixture in Jordan on March 26th.

A significant development in the squad selection is the inclusion of eight Diaspora players, who joined the team earlier this week in Islamabad. The decision to relocate the week-long camp from Lahore to Islamabad was made to accommodate the foreign-based players.

Among the notable additions to the squad are Yousuf Butt, Harun Hamid, Abdul Samad Arshad, Easah Suliman, Abdullah Iqbal, Rahis Nabi, Imran Kayani, and Mohammad Fazal. However, concerns have been raised regarding the fitness of midfielder Harun Hamid, who has been carrying an injury throughout the season. Despite this, Hamid has been retained in the squad.

Unfortunately, Otis Khan has been ruled out of contention due to injury, depriving the team of his services for the crucial encounters against Jordan in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier Round 2.

The Pakistan men’s football team has faced a challenging run of form, with just one victory in their last 17 international outings. Their sole triumph came against Cambodia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier Round 1.

The squad comprises a mix of experienced players and promising talents across all positions. Goalkeepers Yousuf Butt, Saqib Hanif, Abdul Basit, and Hassan Ali will provide stability between the posts. The defensive lineup includes Easah Suliman, Abdullah Iqbal, Mamoon Musa, Haseeb Khan, Mohammad Saddam, Mohammad Sohail, Omer Rao Hayat, Mohammad Fazal, and Mohammad Adeel.

In midfield, Rahis Nabi, Harun Hamid, Alamgir Ghazi, Rajab Ali Hazara, Ali Uzair Gujjar, Shayek Dost, and Abdul Samad will offer creativity and control. Upfront, the team will rely on the attacking prowess of Fareed Ullah, Waleed Khan, Imran Kayani, and Adeel Younis to deliver the goals.

With the squad finalized, Pakistan aims to put on a strong performance and secure positive results in their quest for FIFA World Cup qualification.
