Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a significant 30% reduction in fares for Umrah pilgrims, Saudi resident visa holders, and work visa holders. The reduced fares will apply to passengers traveling to Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Dammam from April 7 to April 11, 2024.
PIA aims to support Umrah pilgrims by implementing fare reductions of up to 20% during this specified period. Economy class fares have been lowered by up to 50,000 for Umrah pilgrims, with specific rates for different regions.
Passengers from the North region, including Lahore, will pay an economy class fare of Rs103,680, while Umrah pilgrims from the South region, including Karachi, will be charged Rs95,400 for their journey.
In a separate incident, a PIA air hostess, Hina Sani, was arrested in Canada after crystal meth was found in her possession, concealed in her shoes. The arrest has raised concerns regarding PIA’s reputation and security protocols, although PIA has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
