Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar and Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), convened on the sidelines of COP-28 to deliberate on the progress of Pakistan’s polio eradication efforts.
During their meeting, PM Kakar expressed his unwavering commitment to go the extra mile in eradicating the poliovirus from Pakistan, commending Gates for his dedicated initiative in the ongoing polio vaccination campaign.
Kakar emphasized the importance of reaching every child in Pakistan with the vaccine, underscoring the urgency of comprehensive coverage. The discussion extended beyond polio, encompassing the broader spectrum of collaboration between BMGF and Pakistan. The caretaker prime minister acknowledged and appreciated the Foundation’s support in areas such as financial inclusion, poverty alleviation, and malnutrition.
