Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the steps taken to address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis, following a detailed briefing from Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the briefing, the minister outlined the ministry’s latest initiatives designed to streamline services, strengthen facilitation, and resolve long-standing administrative hurdles faced by Pakistanis working and living abroad. The prime minister noted that overseas Pakistanis contribute significantly to the national economy and deserve timely and effective support from all relevant government institutions.
He appreciated the ministry’s recent efforts aimed at improving complaint-handling mechanisms, enhancing coordination with foreign missions, and expanding welfare initiatives for expatriate communities. The meeting also touched upon broader matters of mutual interest, including ongoing government policies connected to labour mobility, human resource development, and employment opportunities abroad.
The prime minister stressed the importance of continuously upgrading service delivery, saying that protecting the rights and interests of overseas Pakistanis must remain a top government priority. He also emphasised the need for transparent, technology-based systems that ensure faster responses to grievances.
In a separate engagement, Member of the National Assembly from Rajanpur, Shamsher Ali Mazari, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss issues related to his constituency, NA-189. He briefed the prime minister on local administrative challenges, development needs, and ongoing public concerns.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar was also in attendance during the meeting. The prime minister assured the parliamentarian that the government would continue working closely with elected representatives to resolve constituency-level issues and improve governance at the grassroots.
The consecutive meetings reflect the government’s focus on strengthening institutional responsiveness—both at home and abroad—and building trust with Pakistani communities worldwide. With remittances playing a vital role in economic stability, the administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that overseas Pakistanis receive the facilitation, respect, and timely services they are entitled to.
