PM Steps In After Delay in Boxer’s Promised Reward
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of a delay in the promised financial reward for national boxer Shahzaib Rind, ensuring that the matter will be resolved promptly. The commitment comes after public attention was drawn to the issue through social media.
Shahzaib Rind, who has brought international acclaim to Pakistan through his achievements in boxing, highlighted the matter on X (formerly Twitter), citing a lack of communication regarding the reward.
Federal Minister Issues Public Apology
Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, responded to the matter with a public apology, stating, “We sincerely apologise for this unjustified delay; sportsmen like you are our real heroes, and we value your achievements.”
He emphasized that the delay was not intentional and praised Rind for his contributions to Pakistan’s international sports recognition. “You have brought great honour to the country and made us all proud,” Tarar added.
Government Reaffirms Support for National Athletes
Minister Tarar confirmed that the prime minister had taken serious notice of the issue and issued strict instructions to ensure such oversights are not repeated in the future.
The government now pledges not only to fulfill its financial commitment but also to institutionalize better processes to support national athletes consistently.

Recognizing the Nation’s Sporting Talent
Shahzaib Rind has earned widespread admiration for his dedication to the sport and for representing Pakistan on global platforms. His case has reignited the conversation about timely recognition and reward for athletes who contribute significantly to the country’s image.
