High-Level Delegation to Discuss Trade, Investment, and Energy Cooperation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Bahrain on Wednesday for a two-day official visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and senior officials. The visit aims to enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bahrain across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, energy, technology, education, and culture.
During his stay, PM Shehbaz will hold key meetings with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. These discussions are expected to explore new avenues of economic and strategic partnership while reinforcing the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
Strengthening People-to-People and Economic Linkages
The visit is a significant step toward deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain, with a focus on mutually beneficial projects that can drive economic growth. The prime minister’s engagements will also emphasize cultural and educational exchanges, fostering stronger people-to-people connections.
Bahrain has been a key partner for Pakistan, particularly in times of need. In September, Bahrain provided emergency humanitarian assistance to Pakistan in response to devastating floods. A Bahraini Boeing 707F aircraft delivered essential relief goods, including 392 tents, 13 electric generators, 65 water purification pumps, 1,660 blankets, 3,180 plastic mats, and 416 food packages.
A Strategic Partnership for Regional Stability and Growth
This visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to expanding diplomatic and economic relations with Gulf nations. By strengthening ties with Bahrain, Pakistan aims to create a results-oriented partnership that benefits both countries in trade, energy security, and technological collaboration.
