PTA Celebrates Digital Milestone with Free Data and Minutes for All Users

In a move to celebrate Pakistan’s fast-paced digital expansion, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a special one-day offer of free 2GB mobile data and 200 on-net minutes for all users across the country. This initiative marks a major milestone—crossing 200 million telecom subscribers nationwide.

According to an official statement from the PTA, this celebration reflects not just subscriber growth, but also a shift towards greater broadband access. Pakistan now boasts 150 million broadband users and over 2 million Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connections, a sign of the country’s commitment to digital transformation.

How to Claim Your Free 2GB Data and 200 Minutes

To access the complimentary offer, users simply need to dial *short code 2200# from any mobile network on June 20, 2025. This applies to subscribers of all major cellular mobile operators, including Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone, and SCO. The bundle will be valid for 24 hours from activation.

Additional Digital Initiatives Announced by PTA

In addition to this offer, the PTA is rolling out further initiatives to enhance digital accessibility. In collaboration with PTCL and private sector companies, the authority plans to deploy free Wi-Fi hotspots at several HEC-recognized universities, including women’s institutions, for the next six months.

Moreover, to bridge the gender digital divide, PTA has partnered with local smartphone manufacturers to distribute 2,000 locally assembled smartphones to female SIM owners through a computerized balloting system across Pakistan, including Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

A Step Toward Digital Empowerment

This landmark achievement underlines PTA’s continued efforts in promoting inclusive and secure digital connectivity. By offering free mobile resources and expanding internet access, the organization is furthering its mission to empower citizens, particularly students and women, in Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
