In a recent meeting chaired by Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi, plans were made to revitalize and expand the revered saints’ shrines. A significant step towards this goal includes the establishment of an online donation portal to facilitate contributions.
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has been tasked with developing the portal, which will offer diverse online payment options. This will particularly benefit individuals residing abroad who wish to donate food or offer garlands at the shrines.
To enhance visitor experience, the CM has directed improvements to the entry and exit points of the shrines. Moreover, a dedicated waiting area and parking facility will be constructed in close proximity to Baba Bulleh Shah’s shrine. Additionally, the renovation and expansion of Shah Shams Tabrez’s shrine in Multan will commence in accordance with the CM’s directives.
Recognizing the historical significance of the region, the CM has stressed the importance of developing a comprehensive plan for the restoration of the Chiniot Shahi Mosque. Preservation of the mosque’s original state while safeguarding its historical value is paramount.
Furthermore, careful consideration has been given to the proposal of restoring Ustad Daman’s house in the walled city, reflecting the CM’s commitment to preserving and reviving cultural landmarks.
The Punjab Caretaker CM’s visionary initiatives aim to honor the sanctity of these sacred shrines and preserve the rich heritage of the region.
