The Pakistan Education and Islamabad Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has unveiled the Ramadan 2024 schedule for educational institutions across the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), aiming to facilitate a harmonious blend of academic pursuits and religious observances.

According to the announced timings, institutes will commence operations at 8:30 AM and conclude at 1 PM from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, they will open at the same time but close an hour earlier, at 12:30 PM.

In a bid to ensure uniformity and adherence to the designated timings, private educational institutions have been urged to strictly comply with the schedule outlined by PEIRA. Similarly, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has also issued directives regarding the operational hours for schools and colleges in Islamabad during Ramadan.

Single-shift institutions are scheduled to function from 8:30 AM to 1 PM from Monday to Thursday, with Friday concluding an hour earlier. However, double-shift institutions will run their morning session from 8 AM to 12:30 PM throughout the week, while evening shift institutions will operate from 1 PM to 5 PM from Monday to Thursday, with a delayed start on Fridays at 1:30 PM.

Moreover, former Federal Government (FG) colleges will follow a timetable mirroring that of other educational institutions, opening at 8:30 AM and closing at 1 PM Monday to Thursday, with Friday concluding at 12:30 PM.

The emphasis on adherence to these timings is crucial to ensure the smooth functioning of educational activities during the holy month of Ramadan, while also accommodating the religious practices of students and faculty. The consistency in timings across various educational institutions aims to streamline management processes and facilitate effective coordination.

These carefully structured timings seek to strike a balance between academic commitments and the observance of religious rituals during Ramadan, fostering an environment conducive to both learning and spiritual reflection.
