Sindh Government takes yet another initiative to support women empowerment in the province by launching Pink People’s Bus Service in Karachi.

The bus service was inaugurated by Minister Sharjeel Memon in order to offer safe, secure, convenient and comfortable mode of transportation to women.

Right now, there are 8 Pink buses that will operate from Model Colony, Malir to Tower through Shahrea Faisal from 7 in the morning till 10 at night.

With Rs 50 fare, the buses will be available every 20 minutes during the peak hours and every hour during the rest of the day. D

The Oscar-winning pride of Pakistan, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy said, “Public transportation for women is very important in all big cities, particularly cities where women are encouraged to build careers. Today is an excellent day for the women of Karachi.”

According to Marvi Mazhar, “I also ask that the government start a pink boat service for women to commute between islands and also expand this bus service to other cities”

Actor Ushna Shah said on this occasion, “Girls will feel safe enough to go to their school, college and universities. If they feel safe enough to work then that’s just excellent for our economy. So this one little step for women will be a giant step for all Pakistan.”
