Thailand Expands Visa-Free Entry to 93 Countries – Is Pakistan Included?

Thailand has taken a significant step to invigorate its tourism sector by announcing visa-free entry for citizens of 93 countries. This policy, effective immediately, allows visitors from these nations to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days without needing a visa, providing a substantial boost to the tourism industry.

Previously, only citizens from 57 countries enjoyed the privilege of visa-free entry. The new policy expansion includes major tourist markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, as well as emerging markets like India, China, and Brazil. However, Pakistani citizens are notably absent from the visa-free list.

This strategic move aims to attract millions of additional tourists, further revitalizing Thailand’s economy, which heavily relies on tourism. In the first half of this year alone, Thailand recorded 17.5 million foreign visitors, marking a 35% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The expanded visa-free policy is expected to significantly enhance these numbers, reinforcing Thailand’s status as a top travel destination.

In addition to the visa-free expansion, Thailand has introduced other visa-related changes to foster a more welcoming environment for international visitors and skilled workers. A new five-year visa allows foreign workers to stay for up to 180 days per year, providing greater flexibility for employment opportunities. Furthermore, international students with bachelor’s degrees or higher can now stay in Thailand for a year post-graduation to explore job opportunities or travel plans.

These initiatives reflect Thailand’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and talented graduates, while also enhancing the tourism experience for global visitors.
