TikTok announced on Wednesday that its new product will allow advertisers to run their ads alongside posts of premium content creators and half of the revenue generated by these ads will then be given with those publishers.
The new product called “Pulse Premiere” which is going to be launched on May 4th will be initially joined by UFC, NBCUniversal, DotDash Meredith, WWE and Buzzfeed.
According to TikTok, this product is an extension of Tiktok’s Pulse Program which allows brands to place their ads alongside the content of top 4% publishers. The launch is announced by the company when brands are already taking up on cost cutting strategies due to tough economic situation. Also, the short video sharing app, owned by China’s ByteDance, is facing a lot of pressure from the US government for shut down amongst the fear that it may access the data of the users in the US.
According to Tiktok, as of March 2023 there are 150 million monthly active users in the US.
