Pakistanis imprisoned abroad

In a National Assembly session on Thursday, the foreign affairs ministry revealed that more than 12,000 Pakistanis are jailed abroad for commiting different crimes.

According to the details, most of these people are imprisoned in Arab countries including 6,200 Pakistanis in the jails of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Of these Pakistani citizens, 1,612 are imprisoned in Abu Dhabi, 1,504 in Jeddah, 1,596 in Riyadh, and 1,488 in Dubai.

Most of the Pakistanis in Arab Jails are charged for drug smuggling, which is considered a very serious crime there. It is also noteworthy that considering the current economic situation in the countries, many Pakistanis are going abroad for a better future. However, their involvement in getting caught in criminal activities is also increasing and must be looked into.
