In the past five days, China’s Capita Beijing received 29.3 inches of rainfall, which is the heaviest in 140 years. Beijing received 744.8 millimeters of rain from Saturday to Wednesday, according to the Beijing Meteorological Bureau.
Chinese authorities have said that the disastrous rains have damaged roads and affected power in the city. More than 27 people are missing and at least 20 people have lost their lives due to the torrential downpour. Moreover, thousands of people have been gathered in different schools and public buildings as makeshift shelters.
