Local YouTube sensation Muzzamil Hussain, popularly known as MHTOORI, has taken a significant step by serving Pakistan Television (PTV) World with a legal notice for copyright infringement. The issue arose when the state-owned television channel aired one of MHTOORI’s original videos without seeking his permission or offering due credit, a standard practice for TV channels when using content created by others.

Surprisingly, PTV administration neither approached Muzzamil for consent nor acknowledged his work. The YouTuber stumbled upon this unauthorized broadcast of his video while watching PTV World, which took place on 30th September around 2 pm. Despite these allegations, the state television has yet to respond to the accusations.

In the legal notice, MHTOORI asserts that the video broadcasted by PTV World was constructed from various clips of his content available on Facebook. These clips were filmed in various scenic locations across Pakistan, including Swabi, Islamia College University, Gwadar, Khanpur Dam, and other historical sites.

Within the legal notice, MHTOORI demands that PTV immediately cease any further broadcast, distribution, or use of the video in question. Furthermore, he seeks compensation amounting to Two Hundred Million PKR for the unauthorized creation and broadcast of his video, in accordance with the Copyright Ordinance of 1962.

MHTOORI’s legal representative has given a 7-day ultimatum to the PTV administration to respond to the legal notice. Should they fail to meet these demands within the stipulated time frame, Muzzamil will initiate legal proceedings to protect his rights as a content creator.
