Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry found himself in legal trouble as a local court in Islamabad granted a two-day physical remand in connection with an alleged fraud case. Fawad’s arrest occurred on Saturday, a development disclosed by his wife, Hiba Fawad, in a social media post.
During the court proceedings, the prosecutor presented the FIR registered against Fawad, and the PTI leader’s legal counsel argued for the dismissal of what they deemed a “bogus” FIR. Unfortunately, their plea was rejected, leading to the approval of a two-day physical remand.
This is not Fawad Chaudhry’s first encounter with legal issues. In the past, he faced arrest for allegedly “threatening” members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Later, he issued an apology for using “intemperate” language against the ECP and Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja. Despite these legal challenges, the former PTI leader remains a prominent figure in Pakistani politics, navigating through a complex legal landscape.
