IPL copies PSL's trophy presenting style

However, this year’s opening ceremony found itself mired in controversy as netizens accused IPL of copying the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8.

Fans on Twitter were quick to note that IPL had used drone technology to display its trophy, which was first done during the PSL 8 opening ceremony at the Multan Cricket Stadium. While the IPL opening ceremony was well received by cricket fans in India, the PSL 8 opening ceremony was hailed by fans for its high-quality entertainment.
