One of the new features is Verified Phone Number, which will add a Verified Phone Number label to the profile.

Currently, phone number verification is required for a blue tick on a Twitter account, so it is not clear how a user will be able to verify his phone.

Another feature will let users know how many people read each tweet.

It has been named Tweet View Count, in which an eye icon will be created under each tweet, which can be clicked to know how many people have read that tweet.

Currently, these two features are being tested, so it is not clear when they will be available to users.

It is also not clear whether it will be available to general users or limited to the company’s subscribers.

Still, we are super-excited about these new features to be added by Twitter.

A short walk after eating can save you from many life-threatening diseases. Research from the University of Limerick in Ireland has shown that walking for a few minutes after a meal reduces blood sugar and insulin levels.

It reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Standing and walking cause muscle spasms, which use glucose for this task, and lower blood sugar levels, the researchers said.

He added that regular physical activity before glucose levels peak is beneficial for health. Glucose levels peak 60 to 90 minutes after a meal.

During the research, 7 research reports were analyzed to see the health effects of standing or walking.

Sheeraz Khan Soomro, Being the conquering hero of Karachi with his massive activism in correcting the faults of the system

Another commoner of Karachi raised his voice against the injustice and cruelty happening in the city along with taking actions to eliminate the small defaults of society that can destroy the whole environment if not treated timely.

Sheeraz Khan Soomro is an astute lawyer, a political activist, and a philanthropist. Everyone is well aware of this name due to his recent efforts in solving some of the major issues. Though he has always been a social activist and helped the people of Karachi selflessly his role in these incidents got him massive attention from the whole country. In addition to these cases, a few days back there was a petition to ban Karachi Zoo in Sindh High Court to end the animal abuse. This petition was also raised by Sheeraz Khan Soomro. His dedication to making this society a better place for everyone is not limited to humans only. He is probably the first to raise the issue of animal abuse.

Sheeraz Khan Soomro is the founder of the NGO ‘United for National Interest’, which operates in 18 cities of Pakistan to foster awareness and inclusive activism. Currently, he is working to build an inclusive platform to give voice to the voiceless and the unheard. This platform will embrace and celebrate diversity, with no discrimination based on religion, gender, class, caste, ethnicity, etc.

Sheeraz Khan Soomro’s activism on the political and social front at this young age of 23 is remarkable. His political career till now was also dedicated to helping the poor and oppressed. This is obvious from his efforts in ration drive during Covid-19 which helped 2000 families, weekly food drive in Karachi, and the Rozgar project enabling people, particularly women and widows, to earn a livelihood. Selfless people like him use their political influence to help others. Even without being associated with any political party, he is actively working to reopen the non-functioning government schools across Sindh.

The number of tasks he has done till now at this young age is truly unmatchable. People like him are assets to Pakistan. If we get more youngsters like him in our society, especially in our political area, the negative image of Pakistan can get vanished forever.

Toyota, Suzuki to partially shut Pakistan output over forex, shortage issues

Pakistan’s two leading car assemblers, Toyota and Suzuki, plan partial plant shutdowns next month due to the unavailability of raw material amid import restrictions and exchange rate volatility, officials at both companies said on Wednesday.

The government in recent weeks has attempted to curb imports in the face of fast depleting foreign reserves, a declining currency, and a widening current account deficit, because of which the rupee has lost over 20% of its value this year.

The move has had a cascading effect on industries that rely on imports to complete finished goods as they say the central bank has delayed the clearance of letters of credit with banks facing a shortage of dollars, affecting their ability to import materials.

“There will be 10 working days next month, only if the central bank allows us to open a letter of credit based on the quota they promised,” Ali Asghar Jamali, chief executive at Indus Motor Company Ltd which assembles Toyota vehicles in Pakistan, told Reuters.

He said the company was offering refunds to customers facing delays and markups on their payments, with deliveries likely to be delayed by at least three months and prices to be revised as the country does not have dollars available.

Reserves with the central bank have fallen to as low as $9.3 billion, enough to cover less than two months of imports. The current account deficit for the last financial year touched 5% of GDP with imports hitting record highs.

Pak Suzuki, which assembles Suzuki vehicles locally, echoed the sentiment, citing the central bank’s new mechanism for prior approval for imports.

“Restrictions had adversely impacted clearance of import consignments from ports,” the head of public relations for Pak Suzuki Motors, Shafiq A Shaikh, said.

He said the unavailability of materials may result in a plant shutdown in August.

“If the same situation continues, then from August 2022 we have big problems,” Shaikh said.

State Bank of Pakistan did not respond to requests for comment.

The sale of locally assembled cars in Pakistan surged by around 50% from July 2021 to May 2022 compared with the same period of the previous year, according to the data of the Pakistan Automotive Manufactures Association.

WhatsApp is testing a feature that “keeps” messages that have been deleted

WhatsApp has said that it is working on a feature that will let users send messages that will disappear after a certain amount of time.

The company said it plans to add a “Kept messages” section where users can store messages that are going away but that they want to keep.

“With this feature, it will be possible to keep a disappearing message in order to prevent its automatic deletion for all people in the conversation, but everyone can also un-keep the message for other people later,” they said.

According to a report by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, there is currently no way to save messages in disappearing chats, and users can’t even star messages in a disappearing chat.

The Kept Messages feature will let the user “Keep” a message, which will go to the “Kept Messages” section like archives or bookmarks.

WhatsApp will also let group admins limit this feature. This means that there will be a new privacy setting that lets group admins turn on and off the ability to keep a message that disappears.

The feature will be available to everyone soon, but it is still being worked on and will be given to beta testers soon.
