M.Subtain Zahid-Emerging blogger, Influencer and Content Creator.

Talent is highly prized around the world, and youthful talent is even more so. It’s incredible to be young and achieve significantly more than folks twice your age. Not everyone is meant to reach a certain level of fulfilment in their lives, but if you are ambitious and determined, you can attain your goals with hard work and devotion. Success is never easy, but it appears significantly more difficult and dangerous when you are young. When it comes to young people making a difference in society or introducing new ideas, the name of Subtain Zahid, a young man from Islamabad, Pakistan, must be mentioned. Being ambitious and beginning to work for your objectives at an early age might be a blessing in disguise,Despite this, many people only realise the worth of time after it has passed. Because they are afraid of the problems they will confront, most young people choose to daydream rather than move out of their comfort zone and work on their goals. Subtain Zahid, on the other hand, holds a different viewpoint. Once you’ve started down the road to success, he believes there’s no turning back. Falling and rising are natural parts of the process, and those who maintain their momentum are lucky. Subtain Zahid is a good example of this.

Who is Subtain Zahid?

Subtain Zahid is a 19-year-old young man. His born in 16th march,2003 in Sheikhupura Punjab.  He currently resides in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital. He is now pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Economics at Bahria University Islamabad. His father works for the government. Since he was in fifth grade, he has wanted to become famous on social media. It was a significant risk, but it provided him the motivation he needed to work hard and try new things. He began blogging in 2019 and has over 200k Instagram followers (Subtain blogs). He also works as an influencer and content provider in addition to writing. He collaborated with a lot of Pakistani companies. He has also worked with global brands and campaigns. Finally, he got his big break when he became renowned on Instagram, Tiktok, and other social media platforms.

What does Subtain Zahid have to say about his success?

It wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Subtain experienced his first taste of disappointment at a young age, owing to his early achievement. He tells us of a period when he was on the verge of losing a year. He was 33 percent burned by high voltage current in 2016, spent a month in the ICU, and had to redo grade 9 because he wasn’t prepared for the tests. He understands the value of time and believes that if he didn’t waste it, he would be more senior in the class in which he is currently enrolled. However, everything happens for a reason. If he does not lose his one year, he would never see his helpful and loving friends again. He stated that he had received backing from family and friends is a blessing.

Advice to young Creators.

Subtain learned by trial and error when he first started working in social media and had no one to look up to in Pakistan. But now that he’s settled into his niche, he’s ready to offer some advise to those who are just getting started with social media.

  • If you want to do something in life, you must be determined. There will be many challenges ahead, and you must be bold enough to tackle them all. Just keep in mind that the path to your dream is not easy. So, even if there are no immediate benefits, staying on task and working hard is crucial.
  • Creating a strong team while creating content. Trusting the proper people will take you a long way, and in order to do so, you must carefully select your team. That does not include everyone you know, but only those who are qualified, hardworking, and skilled in their respective industries.
  • Time management, time management is very important. If you say, “I can’t give time to this social media for content creation,” then you are a very lazy person in my opinion, because it is impossible to be busy 24/7. If you look around the world, you will notice that people who are always on top manage their time and work hard.

Insulting Prophet Muhammad is not freedom of expression says Putin

During his annual press conference, Putin expressed the importance of artistic freedom without hindrance to religious freedom.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said insulting Prophet Muhammad does not count as freedom of expression.

Insults to the prophet are a “violation of religious freedom and the violation of the sacred feelings of people who profess Islam,”, Putin said on Thursday during his annual news conference, Russian News Agency TASS reported.

Putin also criticised posting photos of Nazis on websites such as the one titled the Immortal Regiment dedicated to Russians that died in World War Two.

Putin said these acts give rise to extremist reprisals, citing as an example the attack on the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo magazine in Paris after its publication of cartoons of the prophet.

While praising artistic freedom in general, Putin said it has its limits and it should not infringe on other freedoms.

Russia has evolved as a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional state, so Russians, he said, are used to respecting each other’s traditions.

In some other countries, this respect comes in short supply, Putin said.

LHC Hints at Lockdown for Private Offices and Schools due to Poor Air Quality

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has hinted at the closure of schools and private offices for at least a week due to the unsatisfactory Air Quality Index (AQI).

The court was dealing with several petitions filed about the ongoing environmental issues. Considering the situation, Justice Shahid Karim remarked that the AQI level in Lahore has increased to a dangerous level and it is high time we took preventive measures on an immediate basis to control the damage. Currently, Lahore is included in the list of one of the most polluted cities in the world due to its increased AQI levels.

Punjab Disaster Management Authority Director also informed the court that last week saw a considerable decrease in smog and they are hoping it will further decrease in the weeks to come.

Another report by the judicial water commission mentioned that 47 sugar mills have not yet installed water treatment plants and are contributing to air pollution in the province. Notices have been issued to all these mills.

COVID-19 Booster Shot Approved for Immunocompromised People, Healthcare Workers and Those Above 50

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has approved booster shots for immunocompromised people, healthcare workers and elderly people who are 50 and above. This news came in the wake of another coronavirus variant, Omicron, spreading across the world.

The statement issued by NCOC did not specify the name of any vaccine that will be used as a booster shot. However, it was mentioned that the booster shot will be free and administered after 6 months of the last vaccine shot.

The NCOC meeting that was held today also discussed the situation of Pakistan, its epidemic curve, vaccine strategy and virus prevalence in the country. The meeting also highlighted the progress of different cities in vaccinating people.

It was emphasized in the meeting that the new Omicron variant was spreading at an alarming rate across the globe and the only preventive measure to mitigate its effects is vaccination.

NCOC also announced its strict policy of “obligatory vaccination regime” starting from December 1st to vaccinate more people. The authorities have been asked to adopt a “Zero tolerance policy” in this regard.

Currently, there are 40 call centres in the country that are tracing people who have not received their second shot yet and are calling them to get completely vaccinated. The number of these call centres is likely to increase in the days to come.

Chief secretaries and provincial health ministers present in the meeting explained their initiatives to speed up the vaccination campaign, improve testing facilities and active call centres.

The NCOC statement said, “All provinces will start vaccination outreach campaigns immediately to [achieve] the vaccination targets.”

Dr Nosheen Mysteriously Dies at Chandka Medical College, Larkana – PMA Demands Investigation

Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Sindh Chapter demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of Dr. Nosheen at Chandka Medical College, Larkana. She was found dead in her hostel room on November 24th, 2021.

A team from PMA virtually met Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar on Monday and showed deep concern over the loss of their student’s life. They emphasized finding the real cause of her death by utilizing all available latest technology and resources, and later share reports with the public.

This is not the first incident in the hostel. Just a few months ago, another doctor named Nimrata was also found dead in a similar pattern. However, no progress happened in her case either and her true cause of death was never revealed.

Dr. Nosheen’s family is still in shock and have refused to accept her death as suicide. Though Sindh Assembly has promised to carry out a free and fair investigation, we rarely see such promises getting fulfilled.

In the meeting, it was also highlighted that if such incidents are not controlled and investigated on time, parents may stop sending their children to other cities for education over security issues. If this happens, it will be a disaster for all.

How Dangerous is the New COVID-19 Variant – Omicron?

Just when we thought things are getting back to the “new normal” post-COVID, another variant decided to surprise us. Named as Omicron variant, the virus was first found in South Africa and is believed to have an “unprecedented number of spike mutations”.

The WHO has warned that the virus may spread fast and that more information regarding this strain will be shared in the next few weeks. Countries in European Union have already reported confirmed cases of this variant, causing others to take precautionary measures. The British PM has invited health ministers of G7 countries to meet and discuss the current situation. Meanwhile, Japan has closed its borders for all foreigners.

Pakistan also has banned the entry of travellers from six countries. Asad Umar, Chairman NCOC, has said that though we cannot stop the spread of the Omicron variant, we may lessen the impact by contact tracing and administrating booster vaccine shots. He also showed concern about the virus coming to Pakistan as the travel continues as usual globally.

In addition to booster shots and contact tracing, the government is encouraging people to start practising strict SOPs including wearing masks, washing hands and doing rapid testing. The Government is also fighting a battle with the mindset that are discouraging vaccines.

South Africa has reported that most infected patients who are coming to hospitals are people who are unvaccinated. We also know that vaccinated people are also at risk of getting reinfected but the damage this new variant can do is still unclear.

Pakistan’s Ranking in Global Hunger Index Categorized “Serious”

According to the latest Global Hunger Index (GHI) ranking, Pakistan is ranked 92nd out of 116 countries. This is considered serious and is a grave concern for the authorities.

Though Pakistan’s position is still better than the neighbour India (standing at 101), our other two neighbours in the region are comparatively doing better with Bangladesh ranked 76 and Sri Lanka ranked 65.

These rankings shared by GHI are aimed at combating hunger at the global level. It is based on four indicators including child wasting, mortality rate under 5 years, undernourishment and stunting. Currently, there are 37.6 percent children in Pakistan who are suffering from stunting.

In the recent years, effective policies by the government have helped bring down the number of undernourished people to 12.9 percent from 21.1 percent in 2000. The number of wasting children has also been brought down in 2020 to 7.1 percent as compared to 14.1 percent in 2000.

The joint report was published by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe on global hunger, says, “As the year 2030 draws closer, achievement of the world’s commitment to Zero Hunger is tragically distant”.

Pakistan’s food price inflation has reached double digits in the last few years. This along with diminishing income has made many people food insecure. A report by World Good Programme (WFP) mentions that almost 43% of people in the country are food insecure while 18% of these people are suffering from acute food insecurity. The report also said that affordability is the “greatest barrier in achieving a nutritious diet.”
