Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also taken a stern stance, ordering action against the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Hazara division and several other officials within a tight deadline of fifteen days. Tarar has shed light on PM Shehbaz’s active involvement in crucial meetings regarding Chinese security and the establishment of an inquiry committee to investigate the Dasu incident.
Underlining the government’s dedication to bolstering the national economy, Tarar emphasized that efforts are underway to strengthen economic foundations. Tarar noted the stabilizing effect of the rupee on the country’s economy, highlighting positive signs in both economic and industrial sectors.
Expressing condolences and solidarity, Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain visited Wuhan, China, to extend sympathies to the Chinese government and officials. Tarar reiterated the PML-N government’s unwavering commitment to the Pak-China friendship, which has been a consistent priority.
The government has swiftly condemned the Dasu incident, which resulted in the tragic loss of five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver. A suicide bomber targeted a convoy of foreign nationals traveling from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu, prompting condemnation from officials and renewed measures to prevent similar occurrences.
Tarar stressed the imperative of maintaining robust security measures for Chinese projects and personnel in Pakistan, affirming that no compromises will be tolerated in ensuring their safety. Prime Minister Shehbaz is personally overseeing security matters related to Chinese projects, reflecting the government’s determination to tackle security challenges while upholding the strong bond between Pakistan and China.
