The much-awaited schedule of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has finally been revealed. Pakistan’s premier first-class cricket tournament is scheduled to start from 26 October, and the teams representing 16 districts will participate in this four-day tournament from 19 December. People have been eagerly waiting for the release of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy schedule as the tournament brings out the best talent in the whole country.
Abbottabad, AJK, Bahawalpur, Dera Murad Jamali, Faisalabad, FATA, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi Blues, Karachi Whites, Lahore Whites, Lahore Blues, Larkana, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot are the participating areas. Stiff competition is in the offing this time around, which Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will declare at the appropriate moment when the schedule is updated.
In further news from Pakistan, Karachi Whites, the team that will be defending their title, won the final of last year in 2023 with an astonishing margin of 456 runs against Faisalabad at the Gaddafi Stadium. That has set a benchmark for them from last year; it will be interesting to see if they could carry on their stranglehold into this season as well, given that the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is approaching.
Pakistan Domestic Cricket Operations Director, Abdullah Khurram Niazi while speaking at the event said that the schedule of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy was very crucial for Pakistan’s cricket structure.
“Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is the pinnacle of domestic cricket in Pakistan as it is not just a tournament but also an event that showcases the immense talent across the country and prepares them for the challenges of international cricket.
“As always, we will continue to provide the best possible platform for players to excel and show their capabilities on the biggest stage in domestic cricket as they will be rubbing their shoulders with the best players of the country.
As cricketing the world waits for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Niazi said his organization remained committed to the provision of the most perfect platform for the emerging cricketer. With a healthy domestic season already in place, all the ingredients are in place for another stimulating competition.
“Earlier we demonstrated a successful Champions One-Day Cup, and are fully committed to strengthening our domestic structure. The successful execution of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy remains at the heart of this commitment.”
