Saudi Arabia has revealed its flight operations plan for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, ensuring a smooth journey for pilgrims. The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has released a detailed schedule for “pre-judge” flights, commencing on May 9, 2024, and continuing until June 10, 2024, as pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia.
Conversely, the return journey for those leaving Saudi Arabia is set to start on June 20, 2024, with the final flight for Hajj 2024 departing on July 21, 2024. GACA has invited airlines from various countries, including Pakistan, to submit applications for pre- and post-Hajj flight operations until January 1, 2024.
However, the highly anticipated release of the Hajj Policy for 2024 faced an unexpected delay. The Minister of Religious Affairs had initially scheduled a press conference, but it was postponed due to ongoing discussions and efforts to reduce the cost of Hajj packages.
Recent reports indicated that the Federal Cabinet approved the Hajj Policy for 2024, introducing significant changes focused on inclusivity and efficiency to enhance the pilgrim experience, aligning with public recommendations. This policy promises to provide a more streamlined and accessible pilgrimage experience for all.
