The temperature in a China’s northwest remote town crossed more than 52 Celsius (126 Fahrenheit) on Sunday as reported by the state media. This news made it to headlines across the globe because just six months ago, China was facing minus 50°C temperature.
The temperature in Sanbao, Xinjiang’s Turpan Depression is likely to remain the same for the next five days.
Since April, the counties in Asia are battling high temperatures due to the global climate change.
The prolonged high temperatures in China have affected China’s crops and grids. Experts also fear that this year, the high temperature may invite draught which will be the most severe in 60 years.
